What exactly is Fossil Shell Flour?

Fossil Shell Flour is food-grade diatomaceous earth (DE), the fossilised skeletal remains of diatoms, microscopic freshwater algae that lived millions of years ago. These organisms had silica-rich cell walls that accumulated on lake beds over time. Food-grade DE is distinct from industrial-grade DE, which is heat-treated and not suitable for consumption.

How does the negative ion charge work for detoxification?

FSF particles carry a negative electrical charge. Many toxins, heavy metals, pathogens, and pesticide residues carry a positive charge, and opposite charges attract. When FSF moves through the digestive tract, these positively charged contaminants bind to the silica particles and are carried out of the body in stool rather than being absorbed into the bloodstream.

How does it help with parasites?

On a microscopic level, diatomaceous earth particles have sharp, abrasive edges. When these particles contact the exoskeletons of parasites, they cause physical damage that dehydrates and disrupts the parasite. It works mechanically, not chemically, meaning parasites cannot develop resistance to it.

Why is silica so important?

Silica is required for collagen synthesis, it acts as a catalyst in the process that forms collagen's triple-helix structure.
